ATCSW, ASEAN Secretariat, and JICA Convene to Advance Human Resource Development in Social Work Across ASEAN
ATCSW was pleased to hold an online meeting with the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC), Poverty Eradication and Gender Division (PEGD) Team, together with representatives from JICA Thailand and JICA Indonesia.
The ATCSW team was led by Mr. Chinchai Cheecharoen, Executive Director of ATCSW,
Dr. Akiko Yokoyama, JICA Expert on Project Management/Social Work at ATCSW, and
Ms. Tanatchaporn Cholnapakul, SOMSWD Focal Point of Thailand.
The PEGD Team was led by Ms. Jacel Javier Paguio, Senior Officer for PEGD, ASEAN Secretariat.
The meeting served as an opportunity to introduce the JICA Project for Human Resource Development on Social Work in the ASEAN Region, implemented in collaboration with ATCSW.
As ATCSW is currently in the process of finalizing its five-year strategic plan, the team sincerely appreciated the valuable guidance and recommendations provided by the PEGD Team.
In addition, JICA invited the PEGD Team to participate in the Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) of the JICA Project at ATCSW, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance regional cooperation in social work and social welfare development in ASEAN.
